And This Little Pig said Cow-Day-Wednesday

It's Cow-Day-Wednesday, a crisp and chilly winter's day, and while the sun shone beautifully there was a wind that became stronger as the day went on... oh and it was coming off snow :(

We had some cows and calves today. Love calves they are usually really good, and stare at the strange lady with the fully little square shaped thing in her hands. I should have taken my Sony Nex-5 with me, but just grab my little Panasonic Lumix, probably would have gotten clearer photos with the Nex.

Anyway it was like having a pen of little teddy bears (British White calves).
Just look at this guy, you can just tell he is a boy, such a 'manly' head.
We were having such an interesting day after all the cattle were sold and weighed, while finishing up we can discuss some of the strangest things. Like... Batman & Robin quotes from the original series. Well it was more Robin quotes, and yes you can google them! So I leave you with this, which is probably very appropriate for winter...

"Holy Kleenex Batman, it was right under our nose's and we blew it!"

And This Little Pig said Crazy Finish No 8

I finished my first County Cottage Needleworks pattern on Monday, and my 8th Crazy January Challenge 2011... Woo Hoo!!! CCN Pumpkin Cottage was a really enjoyable pattern, and it was the 'smallest' of my 'large' starts for the Crazies.
I changed a couple of things, no white pumpkins, I changed them to DMC 3825 Pumpkin Pale, which I also used for "Pumpkin Cottage" wording, the white birds became DMC 168 Pewter Very Light. Have started work again on LHN Pumpkin Hollow Farm.
On a different note, around 12 months ago, a dear friend gave me a skein, a very big ball of Alpaca, homespun. I think it might just be time to knit a scarf. Nothing fancy, just a plain little garter stitch scarf.
Isn't it beautiful, all natural, no dye.
See you again soon... LiBBiE in Oz

And This Little Pig said Cow-Day-Wednesday Winter and Wet

Cow-Day-Wednesday, and the first day of winter, and although it was wet, it was not really that cold. We have had colder days in May.
A boot print in the ahh... "mud!"
She can't see me, I'm telling you, if I hide behind these wooden rails, she won't see me.
As you can see we have had a lot of rain, we had areas around us that were getting really desperate for water, and this is good winter rain, the creeks are flowing, dams and rainwater tanks are filling and winter clover is starting to shoot.
See the rain drop? The long rain drop.
Just wet.
I've been stitching CCN Pumpkin Cottage, it is the smallest of my 'big' Crazies project. Update photos tomorrow.
